Mission & Vision

We envision a world in which all people are provided with second chances.

We develop our community by reducing the harm to our planet caused from overflowing landfills and fossil fuels, while employing people overcoming barriers to employment in an environment with additional training and support which creates pathways to self-sufficiency and reduces recidivism.

Our Story

We began mattress recycling at Second Chance Recycling in 2008. In 2012, three social enterprises (Second Chance Recycling, Furnish Office & Home and Rebuild Resources) merged together to form Momentum Enterprises. Serving the same communities, there was a strong working relationship with EMERGE Community Development that grew until, in 2015, it felt natural to merge our efforts and expand our social impact.

Second Chance Recycling is now a part of the EMERGE family of enterprises. EMERGE operates three sustainable, social enterprise businesses that empower people facing employment barriers to re-enter the workforce and achieve lifelong success within their communities.
